Princeton

The pictures are from October 10th, 1981 at Lavon North in Texas (north of Dallas). That day I did my first jump - static line from the 182. Danny Dea, D-4237 was the instructor. He is the one holding the door while students board the 182.
My certificate says "Dallas Skydiving Center" but we jumped at the dropzone on Lake Lavon (actually in Princeton).
We did one evening of classroom training off-site the week before. Then on Saturday the 10th, we spent most of the day doing additional training - PLFs and practice jumps from the mock-up. It was a perfect no-wind day when we finally got to jump.
I am "payload" on dropzone.com. I am an active jumper now but it took 30 years after that first static line to get my license.
