Allen Gencarelle was organizing 49-way diamond attempts during the early 80s at the Herd Boogie in Gilbertsville, Pa (Home of the Herd).  Jumpers included were mainly from the mid-atlantic/northeast.  We finally did build a diamond but I doubt it was this one.
