Destin

I made my first jump there, May, 1963. I think the club had been in operation for over one year by that time. Frank Rickard was one of the original members. I believe it was an offshoot from a club in Milton FL. The memberships were mostly military, Navy at Milton and Air Force at Destin. The jump aircraft at Destin was a Fairchild 24. The club suffered with the start of the Commando SPC at Hurlburt in Sep 63.

Update from Frank Rickard: The military club “Air Commandos” changed their bylaws so I could join the club. We called it the Beachcombers
since we were right on the beach. I remember the old Fairchild 24.
